A new Live Action show, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, is coming. The show is geared towards an older audience than Power Rangers and is not created by Disney, but by a new company called "Adness Entertainment". Season One will have 40 episodes, and possibly a Movie if things go well. All 40 episodes have already been filmed. Kamen Rider Dragon Knight is an adaptation of "Kamen Rider Ryuki" (japan season) from 2002.

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight is brought to use by the Wang Brothers, Steve Wang and Michael Wang. They're doing the writing, producing, and directing. Steve Wang directed an episode of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, "The Rescue Mission", and also directed the two Guyver movies (The Guyver and Guyver: Dark Hero).

Kit joins forces with LEN, the leader of the KAMEN RIDERS, after he learns that his father may be a hostage of the evil GENERAL XAVIAX, a renegade warlord who gains his power by kidnapping people from this world.

Kit, now KAMEN RIDER DRAGON KNIGHT, must quickly learn to use his newfound powers to battle General Xaviax and his evil army in the hopes that he will one day find his father.

Little does Kit realize that if the remaining 10 ADVENT CARDS should fall into the wrong hands, it could pose an even greater danger...DARK KAMEN RIDERS...

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight 2008 Story Release:

On the other side of every mirror on Earth lies the parallel dimension of Ventara - a world destroyed by the evil alien, General Xaviax. The Kamen Riders were warriors from Ventara who fought Xaviax with armor and abilities powered by their Advent Decks. Unfortunately, Xaviax stole the Advent Decks and defeated all the Riders but one.

Kamen Rider Wing Knight is the sole surviving Kamen Rider - the only man who can stop Xaviax from destroying Earth the same way he destroyed Ventara. To defeat Wing Knight, Xaviax brought the Advent Decks to Earth and tricked ordinary citizens into becoming new Kamen Riders - super-powered soldiers who will carry out his evil plans.

After his father's mysterious disappearance, Kit Taylor finds an Advent Deck and becomes Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. He joins forces with Kamen Rider Wing Knight to defeat the ten corrupt Kamen Riders that Xaviax sends against them. By fighting, the two hope not only to save the Earth from Xaviax's domination, but to find Kit's missing father and win back Ventara as well.

Kamen Rider, one of Japan’s most enduring franchises, will make its full scale live action debut on American television on Saturday, January 3rd on the CW4Kids Saturday morning block. The CW4Kids will air a special sneak preview of the Kamen Rider Dragon Knight series on Saturday morning December 13th. Bandai America will release a full line of Kamen Rider Dragon Knight toys in the spring of 2009.

The Kamen Rider franchise was created by manga-ka Shotaro Ishinomori in 1971 and quickly adapted into a popular live action children’s TV series by Toei Company, Ltd. The Kamen Rider franchise is still going strong after 37 years having spawned 18 television series (with a total of 892 episodes), 10 TV specials, 28 theatrical releases, plus 11 direct-to-DVD productions.

Adness Entertainment has adapted the 2002 Japanese live action tokusatsu (special effects) series Kamen Rider Ryuki into Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, which features an attractive young cast and non-stop action.

Len, Kamen Rider Wing Knight
Len, a hard-bitten soldier, is the sole survivor of Xaviax's overthrow of Ventara. He has come to Earth to find and defeat Xaviax's corrupt Kamen Riders, and to stop him from conquering another planet. On Earth, Len meets Kit Taylor, the new Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. AT first he believes that Kit is a pawn of Xaviax, but eventually he overcomes his suspicions and takes on Kit as apprentice and friend. The two of them fight side by side against Xaviax's monsters.

Kit, once a confident, outgoing guy, has his life turned upside down when his father disappears and he finds, in his place, a mysterious deck of Advent Cards.

Kase, Kamen Rider Siren
One of the original Kamen Riders of Ventara - and the only female rider - Kase comes to Earth to hunt for her stolen Advent Deck. She was badly wounded in battle on Ventara; neither Len nor Xaviax knew she survived. She is a fierce, no-nonsense soldier who believes that Ventara's interests come before all others.

Episode Descriptions:

EPISODE 101: Search for the Dragon
Turning eighteen should be cool, but not for Kit Taylor. His dad has been missing for a year, he's being kicked out of his foster home, and he keeps getting busted for things he didn't do. Then life get truly strange.

Kit's dad appears in a mirror and tells him to "Look for the dragon." Kit thinks its just a dream, but when he returns to his dad's old apartment, he finds a weird deck of cards, the Advent Deck, and when he picks them up, he's immediately attacked by a dragon that bursts from a mirror. Suddenly he's seeing monsters in every mirror and window, and worse, they're kidnapping people and nobody else seems to notice. When he sees attractive reporter Maya Young chased by monsters, he races to her rescue, only to be pushed aside by a mysterious hero who defeats the monsters then demands that Kit give him the Advent Deck.

As he tries to get away, Kit falls through a mirror into another world and finds himself wearing a strange suit of armor. Before he can adjust, he's attacked again, this time by a giant spider! The mysterious hero - now also in armor - comes to his rescue, but before Kit can ask him what's going on, the dragon returns, breathing fire. Kit runs, confused and afraid, as fireballs explode all around him. What is happening? Where is he? Why is the dragon after him? Why does the hero want the cards?

EPISODE 102: Contract With the Dragon
Kit and the mysterious hero escape the dragon, but get separated. The next day, however, the hero catches Kit, and again demands the Advent Deck. Just then they hear a strange noise - an attack warning - and the hero, Len, must go stop a monster from kidnapping an innocent victim.

Len tells Kit to stay out of it, but Kit wants to help. His father appears again, telling him to contract with the dragon. Kit takes the contract card from the Advent Deck, and this time, when the dragon attacks, it merges with him, and he becomes Kamen Rider Dragon Knight.

Kit enters mirror world and saves Len, who has become Kamen Rider Wing Knight, but Wing Knight isn't grateful. He's angry at Kit for contracting with the dragon, and leaves without telling him why.

Returning home, Kit finds Maya waiting for him. She writes for a blog that reports on paranormal events, and thinks his father's disappearance has something to do with the mirror monsters. She offers to show him evidence, but on the way to the bookstore where she works, Kit hears another attack warning and goes to the rescue as Dragon Knight. Maya watches, amazed as he transforms.

As Kit fights a monster, another Kamen Rider shows up - Kamen Rider Incisor. Kit asks him for help defeating the monster. Instead Incisor attacks him. Kit is shocked when he sees that Incisor and the monster are working together!

EPISODE 103: Kamen Rider Incisor
As Kit fights Incisor and his monster, Len observes, evaluating Kit. Kit fights well, but finally has to retreat, jumping through a window to earth.

Incisor transforms into Richie Preston and calls Connors, the man who gave him the Advent Deck, complaining that the fight was too hard. Connors reminds Richie that he has lost his inheritance, and the only way he's going to get his millions back is defeating Kamen Riders.

Kit returns to Maya's bookstore and she shows him evidence that the mirror monsters are connected to his father's disappearance, but then she's called to help in the store. They make a date to talk again the next day.

As Kit leaves he sees Incisor in a window. Kit transforms into Dragon Knight and follows him into the mirror world. He asks Incisor why they're fighting. Incisor says he gets a million dollars for each Kamen Rider he defeats. Wing Knight appears and helps Kit fight Incisor. Incisor runs, saying two against one isn't fair.

Kit thanks Wing Knight. Wing Knight tells him he tried to stop him from becoming a Kamen Rider, but now that he's in it, he's going to teach him how to fight. Kit says he already knows, but Wing Knight proves him wrong by giving him a hard hitting lesson in Kamen Rider tactics.

EPISODE 104: A Rider's Challenge
After their training session, Len tells Kit that the Kamen Riders were the defenders of Ventara, the world behind the mirrors, and that the Advent Decks were stolen from them and given to people on earth. Len tells Kit the other riders will be coming after him. They hear an attack warning and go fight a monster. Kit does better this time, but Len tells him to go home and study the Advent Cards.

Meanwhile, Maya helps Michelle Walsh, a rival paranormal reporter, interview the man that Kit and Len saved from the monster earlier. Michelle thinks the man is lying, but Maya has seen a Kamen Rider and knows he's telling the truth.

Later, Kit and Len trap Richie, and Len challenges him one on one. Richie and Len fight as Kit watches. Kit is shocked when Len defeats Richie and Richie disintegrates. Kit asks Len what happened, and Len explains that Richie was vented - sent to the Advent Void, trapped forever. Len says that's why Kit can't lose any fights. Kit is stunned. He didn't realize how final the battles were.

Kit goes home and puts the Advent Deck away. He's done with Kamen Riders, but then the attack warning comes again, and he can't resist going out to fight again. As he rides off, a new rider watches him go, then holds out his Advent Deck. It has the sign of the bull on it.

EPISODE 105: The Power of Two
Following the attack warning, Kit fights a monster while the new rider, Torque, observes. As Kit leaves, Torque transforms into Drew. Mr. Conners appears and asks Drew when he's going to make his move. Drew says soon.

Meanwhile Maya tells her friends Lacey and Trent about the Kamen Riders. Lacey doesn't believe her. Trent, a geek and conspiracy nut, does.

In his secret lair, Conners, who is revealed to be Xaviax, an evil alien, tells his plan to Drew. He is collecting human DNA by sending his monsters to kidnap people. Once he has enough samples he'll be able to teleport everyone on earth to his home planet as slaves.

Kit enters the bookstore, upset, and explains to Maya about Richie getting vented. Kit doesn't want to get vented or vent anybody else. He wants out. As they talk, Len arrives, and Kit tells him the same thing. Len explains that now that Kit has contracted with the dragon, there's no going back. He's sorry that Kit is a Kamen Rider now, but now that he is, he could use Kit's help.

Kit reluctantly agrees, and they go fight some monsters. With teamwork, they defeat them, but as the last one falls, Len sees Xaviax watching from mirror. Len attacks, but Xaviax vanishes. Len explains to Kit that when one of the original Kamen Riders betrayed the others, Xaviax defeated them and kidnapped all the people of Ventara. It was Xaviax who gave the Advent Decks to the Kamen Riders on earth, and he's planning to take the people of earth like he did the people of Ventara. He asks Kit for help defeating Xaviax. Kit agrees. It's time to save the world.

In Xaviax's lair, Drew says he's ready to make his move. Xaviax gives him some monsters for back-up and he steps through to earth.

EPISODE 106: Kamen Rider Torque
Kit asks Len which Kamen Rider betrayed the others to Xaviax. Len tells him that it was the original Dragon Knight. They hear an attack warning and go to fight.

When they find the monsters they split up and Kit is attacked by Drew, who has transformed into Kamen Rider Torque. Kit tells him to stop fighting and help him and Wing Knight defeat Xaviax and protect earth.

Torque detransforms into Drew and tells Kit that he's got it all wrong. He says Wing Knight is working for Xaviax, and he can prove it. He tells Kit to stay out of sight, then attacks Wing Knight as Torque. He calls Wing Knight a traitor, and begs him to stop working for Xaviax. Before Wing Knight can respond, Xaviax appears in a nearby mirror and tells Wing Knight to vent Torque. It sounds like they're working together.

Torque runs off and Xaviax disappears. Kit confronts Len, telling him that he saw him helping Xaviax. Len denies it, but Kit doesn't believe him.

Meanwhile, Maya and Trent get a call from JTC, a famous hacker and hero of paranormal investigations, who says he has a tip about the kidnappings. He tells them to go to the city hospital, saying they'll find the victims there.

Kit returns to Torque and helps him defeat some monsters. Torque asks Kit what he thinks of Len now that he's seen him side with Xaviax. Kit doesn’t know what to say.

Maya and Trent follow JTC's tip and go to the hospital. There they find Kit's dad, who stares like a sleepwalker. Maya is amazed. She says she has to tell Kit.

EPISODE 107: Friend or Foe
Maya finds Kit and Drew, and tells Kit she found his dad. They rush to the hospital. Kit tries to wake his dad up, but can't. Drew tells him that Xaviax did this. He drains the people he kidnaps. There is a cure, but Xaviax has it, and they'll have to defeat him to get it. Kit says he'll do anything to get the cure.

When Drew leaves, Kit tells Maya that Drew says Len is working for Xaviax. He doesn't know which side to chose, but because Drew said he can cure his dad, he's leaning that way. Kit hears an attack warning and leaves.

Kit finds Len fighting monsters. After they fight them, he tells Len that he found his dad, but that Xaviax has drained him. Len says he's sorry, but there is no cure. There was a man who could have saved him, but that man is gone. Kit refuses to believe him, and leaves to find Drew.

Len also goes to find Drew, to fight him. As they fight, Drew admits to tricking Kit, and says Xaviax has promised him that he'll be king of the world. Len tells him that Xaviax will vent him when he no longer needs him. Drew doesn't believe him, and blows Len up using a huge robot. It seems impossible that Len could have survived.

Afterwards, Drew visits Kit and Kit tells him that he's made up his mind. He will help Drew fight Xaviax and Wing Knight, as long as Drew will help him save his dad.

EPISODE 108: Kamen Rider Camo
Wing Knight recovers from getting blasted by Torque and staggers off.

Meanwhile, Xaviax recruits Camo, an devious martial artist, telling him that he's a mercenary captain who wants him to take out other mercenaries, starting with Wing Knight. Camo, obsessed with winning, accepts the commission.

Maya talks to JTC, telling him that they found the missing people at the hospital, just like he said she would. They make a date to meet the next night. But before she finishes the call she's kidnapped by a mirror monster.

In Ventara, Len rescues Maya, fighting the monster that kidnapped her. Kit and Drew hear the attack warning too. They see Len fighting the monster. Drew tells Kit to attack Len. Kit hesitates. Drew asks him if he wants to save his dad or not. Before they can put their plan into action, they see Camo, who wants to fight Len on his own. He tells them to get lost or he'll take them out. Kit says they shouldn't fight because they're all on the same side. They're all after Wing Knight. Drew and Camo won't listen. Kit and Drew fight Camo, but when he escapes and they lose Len, Drew blames Kit.

In his lair, Xaviax watches, annoyed that they can't all work together. He asks Kamen Rider Strike to send in Kamen Rider Thrust to finish the job.

In Ventara, Len chases off the monster. Maya thanks him and asks where she is. Len says she's in Ventara, his home world, and explains that Xaviax kidnapped all the people. He also tells her that Kit has been deceived by Drew. She believes him and asks him to try again to get Kit away from Drew. Len agrees to try, but just then he is attacked by Kamen Rider Thrust.

EPISODE 109: Kamen Rider Thrust
Len returns Maya to earth and fights Thrust. Thrust thinks he's fighting in a tournament, and won't listen when Len tells him it’s a war, not a game.

Kit and Drew return to Kit's house. Drew scolds Kit for losing Wing Knight and Camo. Kit questions him about what they're fighting for. Drew counters by questioning Kit's loyalty. Then Maya calls, telling Kit that Len is in trouble and that Drew is the one who's working for Xaviax. Drew asks Kit if he believes her. Kit lies and says he doesn't. He says they should go after Len.

When they reach the fight, Camo appears again, telling them to back off. Wing Knight is his. Kit tries to make peace again, saying that they're all on the same side. But Camo says he's working for a mercenary, not Xaviax, like Drew said. Kit suddenly realizes what Xaviax is doing - telling each of the riders a different story to get them to fight Wing Knight. With this revelation comes the realization that Drew IS working for Xaviax after all.

Drew admits it and attacks Camo, telling Kit that he's next. Kit tries to stop him, but Drew vents Camo, then turns on Kit.

Thrust sees Camo disintegrate as he fights Len. He's stunned. He thought it was just a game. Nobody said anything about being disintegrated. He runs off, and Len limps toward Drew as he prepares to finish off Kit. Len blasts Drew and Drew runs off.

Kit helps Len stand and apologizes to him, saying he should never have trusted Drew. Len forgives him and they return to Earth, where he and Maya bring Len to Kit's house.

EPISODE 110: Battle Club
Thrust returns to earth and transforms into Brad Barrett, a disgraced motocross rider. A flashback reveals that Xaviax made it look like Brad cheated to win a race. Xaviax tells him that he runs a tournament called Battle Club, and that if Brad wins it, he will get the evidence that will clear his name. Brad reluctantly enters the tournament.

At Kit's house, Len explains why Xaviax can't just give the Advent Decks to big tough bad guys. It's because the earth riders are twins of the Ventara riders. The decks only work for people with an exact DNA match, so Xaviax has to trick the earth riders into fighting for him. Kit is confused by this because Xaviax didn't give him his Advent Deck.

Kit and Len hear an attack warning. Kit goes and fights a monster. Brad is there too. He chases off the monster and says he's ready to fight Kit in Battle Club. Kit doesn't know what he's talking about, and runs to fight the monster. Brad watches him go, putting things together.

Xaviax scolds Drew, saying he was supposed to vent Wing Knight, not fight Dragon Knight. No-one is to touch Dragon until Wing Knight is vented. Drew promises, but looks rebellious. Xaviax tells Kamen Rider Strike to watch him.

Kit visits his father. He wonders if there really is a cure for him. In a dream, Dad says there is. Kit wakes and hears an attack warning. He leaves, promising his dad that he will find the cure.

JTC arrives at the bookstore and shows Maya pictures of a Kamen Rider and asks her to investigate. JTC says he's a wanted hacker, and can't look into it himself. Maya agrees to find out more. As he leaves, JTC calls Xaviax and says everything has been set in motion.

Meanwhile, Kit finds Brad fighting a monster. They defeat it, then Brad asks Kit about Battle Club. When he doesn't get the answers he's looking for, he attacks Kit.

EPISODE 111: Vent or be Vented
Brad knocks Kit down and Kit detransforms, revealing his true self. Brad is shocked that Kit's just a kid. Kit tells him that being a Kamen Rider is no game. Brad finally understands and leaves, saying he has to talk to someone.

Drew finds Brad and tries to convince him to help him fight Xaviax, saying that if they defeat him, he'll get the evidence he needs to clear his name. Brad likes the idea, but is suspicious of Drew. He says he's staying on his own. Drew says Brad needs him, but really Drew needs Brad.

Maya and Trent investigate JTC's mysterious Kamen Rider and find out where he's been sighted. Maya comes up with a plan to lure the new rider out of hiding, then calls Kit and leaves a message on his machine, telling him about it.

Xaviax finds Brad. Brad tells him he knows what he is, and knows he tricked him. Xaviax admits it, but says he is still the only one who can clear Brad's name, and he'll only do that if Brad vents Wing Knight. Vent or be vented.

Maya tries to lure out the mystery rider by having Trent dress up as a monster and chase Lacey. Just then the rider shows up chasing a real monster. Maya runs after them, leaving Lacey and Trent behind. Kit arrives and he and the mystery rider fight the monster together.

Brad finds Len, wanting to fight again. Len says Brad's been tricked. Brad says he knows, but the only way out for him is to win. He attacks Len.

Maya hears sirens and races back to Trent and Lacey. Trent has been beat up by a mime, and the police are questioning him. Maya tells the cop they were only making a movie, and he leaves, but nearby, Maya's rival, Michelle Walsh, is watching and taking pictures of Trent in his monster suit.

In Ventara, Kit and the mystery rider defeat the monster, then turn to each other. The mystery rider reveals himself to be Kamen Rider Sting, and tries to arrest Kit by order of the United States Government. Kit is confused.

EPISODE 112: Kamen Rider Sting
As Sting tries to arrest Kit, we flashback to his past. He is Chris Ramirez, and he's been discharged from the marines for severe asthma, much to his father's anger. Then Xaviax shows up as a secret agent, and tells him that aliens are kidnapping Americans. He offers Chris a chance to fight them in secret. Chris, desperate for a way to serve his country, agrees, and Xaviax gives him an Advent Deck.

After the flashback, Chris continues fighting Kit. Kit drops his armor, revealing his true self, but Chris still thinks he's an alien in a clever disguise.

Nearby, Len and Brad are still fighting. Len gets Brad down, but can't finish him. Kit sees the fight and runs to it with Chris. Brad uses Len's hesitation to escape, and Kit tries to tell Len about Chris. But Chris isn't waiting for introductions. Xaviax told Chris that Wing Knight is his primary target, and he attacks him. Kit and Len capture Chris and take him to Kit's apartment.

In his Lair, Xaviax confronts Drew, telling him he knows Drew is betraying him. Drew denies it, but Xaviax shows him footage of his conversation with Brad. Xaviax orders James and his minions to attack. Drew fights them, then escapes. Xaviax sends James after him.

At Kit's apartment, Len and Kit explain to Chris that Xaviax tricked him, but Chris is brainwashed. He doesn't believe them, and when they're distracted, he escapes. Len and Kit go after him.

Len finds Chris and Chris attacks him. Len doesn't want to fight, but has no choice. Len knocks Chris down and uses his final vent, but stops at the last minute, again unable to finish off another Kamen Rider. Chris watches as Len leaves, confused. He expected Len to be a ruthless alien.

Meanwhile, in his apartment, Brad Barrett watches tapes of his old races, muttering over and over to himself, "Brad Barrett wins. Brad Barrett always wins."

EPISODE 113: Thrill of the Hunt
After not being able to vent two riders, Len has self doubts. He gets angry at himself, saying, "Do your job!"

Returning to his apartment, Kit explains to Maya that Chris thinks they're the bad guys. Xaviax told him that they were evil aliens. He hears an attack warning and goes out again.

Chris reports to Xaviax, telling him he met Kit and Len, and that they said what Xaviax said they would. Xaviax says Len and Kit are tricky, but will vent him if they get the chance. Chris is confused because that's not what happened. Len had the chance to vent him and didn't take it.

Just as Kit defeats a monster, Drew shows up, begging for help. He says Xaviax is after him now, and he wants to team up with Len and Kit. Kit doesn't trust him. Drew attacks, but Kit gets the best of him and chases him away.

As Maya watches the fight, Chris shows up. Worried, Maya asks him what he's going to do. Chris is conflicted and isn't sure. He just watches the fight.

Brad finds Len again, determined to finish him off this time. He's done listening. They fight.

As Drew runs, he thinks back to how he got into this mess. In a flashback, Drew is a con-man, selling cheap cell phones. The cops show up and he runs, only to find Xaviax waiting for him. Xaviax asks Drew if he can sell men on fighting each other, and offers him the world if he can do it. Amazed at Xaviax's power, Drew takes the job.

Looking for Drew, Kit finds Chris talking to Maya. He confronts Chris, but Chris says he's ready to talk. He says he's beginning to see that actions speak louder than words. They head off to find Len.

Still running, Drew runs into James, who says he can run, but he can't hide. James attacks Drew.

EPISODE 114: Xaviax's Promise
Kit and Chris find Len and Brad fighting. Kit runs in and tries to convince Brad to stop fighting them and start fighting Xaviax, but Brad is convinced that the only way out of his situation is to defeat them. He attacks. Chris runs in and helps, and he and Len and Kit fight Brad.

In the same location, Drew and James continue their fight. Drew sees an opportunity to line up all the riders and blast them all at once. He fires and everybody falls. Thinking the job is done, he leaves.

Everybody is stunned except James, who hid behind Brad. He takes advantage of the situation and vents Brad, telling him he was too weak. Kit attacks him, but James won't fight. He says he's saving Kit for later, then leaves.

As they recover, Chris tells Len and Kit he's finally decided that they were right about Xaviax. He's ready to team up with them. They shake on it.

Meanwhile, at the bookstore, Maya discovers that she's been fired from her reporting job because Michelle Walsh posted pictures of Trent in the monster suit and claimed that she was faking evidence of an alien sighting. Maya fumes, wishing she could tell the world about the Kamen Riders, but she promised not to.

James catches up with Drew and they fight again. This time James finally vents Brad and he disintegrates. James takes Drew's Advent Deck.

At Kit's Apartment, Len senses that Drew has been vented. Kit is sad, saying that even a jerk doesn't deserve that. Len agrees. Chris says he's beginning to understand how evil Xaviax is, and asks Kit and Len to tell him everything about the Kamen Riders. "And this time I'll listen."

...Steve and Mike and I are always talking about doing something else. We really came together as a pretty good team on Kamen Rider, so it would be fun to work together again. We’ll see.

I have known Steve for almost 18 years now, I think. We met when I cold-called him after seeing Kung-Fu Rascals and thinking, “This is the guy to make my scripts!” We hit it off right away and worked on a whole bunch of original ideas, but then Guyver II came along and we did that instead.

We have kept in touch since then, and when Adness came to Steve with the idea to do Kamen Rider, he called me up and asked me if I wanted to help out.

...Steve gave me a fist full of disks that had the whole 50 episode Ryuki series on them, plus the movie and the special. Unfortunately, they were the infamous “Don’t molest the lawyer” translations, so they didn’t make much sense.

I came onto the project after Steve and Mike had already made the pilot, and what they asked me to do was help them take all their really cool ideas and make them make sense - give them a grounding in reality and logic Steve’s idea of Ventara, and the fact that there would be two sets of riders, one from Ventara, who had been defeated before the series started, and one from Earth, who had been given the cards by Xaviax, was already in place. I just had to work out all the logic of it and come up with a way to make the story work over a 40 episode arc. That might have been the hardest bit of writing/plotting I’ve ever done.

The next hardest bit was making all the existing action scenes fit into our storyline. Not easy when you think that one week, Wing Knight and Dragon Knight are fighting side by side, and the next week they’re beating the hell out of each other. We had to work out the loyalties and rivalries in the show based on who beat up who in the various fights. Fun.

...Kamen Rider Ryuki is a little bit different. Ryuki is often with Knight, but he’s still a pawn who’s fighting back and trying to find out what’s really going on. Though our story is very different, we took a lot of that “who can I trust?” feeling and put it in our show.

Steve and Mike are great. Both have strong personalities and strong opinions, but that’s because they care. I think, if you want to point to one thing that made this show more than just another run of the mill Power Rangers clone, its that the Wang Brothers cared. They cared about making a show that they would want to watch, and a show that wouldn’t talk down to its audience. They are fans, and they made a show for fans. That made them a joy to work with.

...We were a little worried about Matt (Len) at the beginning. He was a martial artist first and an actor second, and he was a kinda nervous early on, but as the show went on, he really relaxed into his role, and became one of the most interesting guys to watch on the screen. Great stuff.

...Given the task to make an American show out of Ryuki, we decided that we would do something completely different. If we’d tried a straight adaptation we would have only ended up making a watered down “child safe” version of the original, and we didn’t want that. That would be lame. If people want the old show, its available, and better than any US adaptation could ever be. We made a completely new show that can be watched as something entirely separate, and which stands on its own two power-armored feet.

Our goal from the beginning was to give Kamen Rider Dragon Knight the weight and drama of the original series. The last thing we wanted to do was to infantilize it. Kamen Rider has never been the kind of bouncy super sentai show Power Rangers was. It has always been a superhero drama, and that’s how we pitched it. We didn’t get it without a fight. Our bosses got cold feet a couple times and would come and say, “Can you put more humor in it?” and “Does it have to be so dark?” but eventually I think they realized that we knew what we were doing and left us alone.

The funny thing was, at the beginning, I think they wanted us to do a goofy “monster of the week” show with all the Kamen Riders going out and fighting as a team, just like Power Rangers, but… well, look at the action footage from Ryuki. It just doesn’t support that kind of story at all. The Kamen Riders fight the occasional monster, but most of the time they’re pounding the living crap out of each other. There was just no way we could make it look like they all lived in a big club house and went surfing together. When the bosses finally realized that, things went a lot smoother.

...It’s an action drama, rather than an action comedy. The themes are more adult. We deal with honor and courage and taking responsibility for your actions, and unlike other shows, we show the consequences of what happens when you don’t. The story is one long arc, rather than a bunch of short, stand alone episodes. It’s more like ‘Lost’ and ‘Heroes’ than it is like Power Rangers. The acting and directing is better, and the story has more emotional weight. I think you’re really going to get involved in the characters and their struggles.

The tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Dragon Knight will be running on The CW4Kids starting on January 3rd. A speak preview will air on the network Saturday, December 13th At 9:30AM.

KAMEN RIDER is a sci-fi franchise created by renowned Japanese manga creator Shotaro Ishinomori that originated in 1971, and subsequently adapted into an iconic live-action kids television series by Toei Company, Ltd. Over the years, the popularity of the franchise has grown and the original series has spawned a number of successful television and theatrical sequels. Still going strong after 37 years, Kamen Rider has a steller history of 18 series, 892 episodes, 10 TV Specials, 28 theatrical releases, and 11 straight to DVD releases.

Produced in Hollywood, KAMEN RIDER DRAGON KNIGHT will make its U.S. debut with an exciting and attractive American Cast, fast-paced action sequences and stunning CGI special effects - all in high-def.

The story follows the heroic adventures of teenager Kit Taylor, who discovers a mysterious deck of Advent Cards that grant him the power to transform into an ancient armored warrior called a Kamen Rider. He joins Kamen Rider comrade Wing Knight to battle the renegade warlord General Xaviax and his army in both the real world and an alternate reality called Ventara, or Mirror World.

KAMEN RIDER is a production of Adness Entertainment. An extensive line of KAMEN RIDER toys from global leader Bandai America will debut at retail in June 2009.

There’s a new live-action thrill ride coming to the CW Saturday mornings, and you’ll get a full episode preview on Dec. 13 to build anticipation for its January release. Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight descends from the wildly popular Japanese Kamen Rider films and TV series, a franchise that originated 35 years ago. Back in 1995, WBNX aired Masked Rider, the first American adaptation loosely based on the Kamen saga—but this new adventure is light-years superior. For starters, one of the main stars is charismatic Matt Mullins, a 5-time Kickboxing/Karate World Champion. Matt and a partner actually created the martial arts style/phenomenon known globally as XMA, or Extreme Martial Arts. He’s flanked by Disney favorite Stephen Lunsford and pop singer/actress Marisa Lauren. At first glance, Kamen Rider may seem like another morphing fantasy show for teens, but there’s an ongoing mystery, a creepy shapeshifting villain (William O’Leary), and some of the best choreographed action scenes and special-effects you’ll see on weekly television.

Kamen Rider Franchise Background

Kamen Rider is the overall name of a famous Japanese sci-fi franchise created by manga creator Shotaro Ishinomori and adapted into a live-action kids television series by Toei Company, Ltd. The original Kamen Rider series aired in Japan in 1971, and over the years has produced 18 different series and a total of 892 episodes, 10 TV Specials, 28 theatrical releases, and 11 direct- to-DVD releases.

Each Kamen Rider series is different, having their own unique characters and storylines. However, they share certain traits with one another. All involve at least one young man that transforms into a Kamen Rider to fight monsters and organizations linked to the Kamen Rider's origin. As the series goes on, the Rider learns more about the origin of his powers, the monsters in the show, or other Kamen Riders.

Early Kamen Riders' character designs were based on grasshoppers, but many of the newer Kamen Riders series differ from this. A trend among recent Kamen Riders is their ability to change forms and become stronger versions of themselves. Motorcycles are also an important part of any Kamen Rider show.

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight is adapted from the series Kamen Rider Ryuki, which aired in Japan in 2002.

With the release of this series, Kamen Rider now has the chance to reach new audiences around the world, and create new fans across borders as well as generations. Adness Entertainment is proud to be able to be a part of Kamen Rider's ongoing history in producing Kamen Rider Dragon Knight as the next step in telling this extraordinary story.

Maya Young
(played by Aria Alistar)
Cute and more than a little geeky, Maya moved to L.A. to attend college, leaving her parents behind. She works at her Aunt's bookstore, where she has a small "sanctum sanctorum" in the back room - she keeps her computer and collection of books there. She's deeply into conspiracy theories, alien abduction, vile vortexes, and Bigfoot. Maya has her own blog, widely read by conspiracy buffs (and nuts). Maybe is remarkably level-headed, considering her interests, and doesn't really fit into the L.A. scene, despite frequent attempts.

Trent Moseley
(played by Taylor Emerson)
Trent is an intense, albeit kinda goofy, emo boy who shares Maya's interest in conspiracy theories and alien visitations. He has a wickedly painful crush on Maya but is far too shy and nervous to reveal this to her. He works at the bookstore with Maya, serving as a source of unusual news and theories.

Lacey Sheridan
(played by Marisa Lauren)
Lacey was Maya's best friend when they were younger, but the two have grown apart since arriving in LA for school. While Maya is focused on her studies (and her interest in conspiracies and whatnot), Lacey has fallen into the "Scene," more concerned about trendy fashions, partying, pop culture and boys. Lacy tries like crazy to get Maya involved in the party and club scene, but without much luck.

Grace Kiefer
(Maya's Aunt)
(played by Victoria Jackson)
Grace runs the bookstore and acts as a surrogate mom/big sister for Maya. She thinks Maya is a little goofy about the conspiracy stuff. Grace is into yoga and all things new age.

Frank Taylor
(Kit's dad)
(played by JF Davis)
Perhaps not the perfect father, Frank did his best with Kit, trying to balance fatherhood with bringing home the bacon. After the death of his wife, Frank did everything he could to pick up the slack where raising Kit was concerned, but the demands of his job made it difficult. His disappearance sent Kit into a spiral of darkness.

Star Shard: Treasures of humans which is shattered and scattered in 6 continents on earth, although it is said that they are the keys to bring a disaster, which had sealed by our ancestors. It is said that they give aliens a huge power enough for dominating the universe. The Defenders of The Earth, the UN's anti-extraterrestrial special organization fights against the Family of Darkness, a group of invaders from space, to protect our earth!

Red Defender: The boy hero. Julian Mcpherson, 18 years old, a cheerful high school student who lives in Sydney and belongs to Defenders of The Earth Australian Branch. Julian is a good martial artist and excellent at fighting with a long sword. He flies a jet plane which he calls from the base.

Blue Defender: The girl heroine. Claire Mcpherson, 18 years old high school student, twin sister of Julian, member of the Rescue Force Australian Branch. Clair is top of the class, talkative but also keeps the secret of Rescue Force. Good at sword fighting. Steers a jet submarine.

Skullhead: Commander of the Family of Darkness. Skullhead is seeking the Star Shards for his own vicious purpose, and also trying to destroy Rescue Force.

Crow: The Family of Darkness minions. They are working for Skullhead to find the Star Shards.

Shadow: A mysterious warrior who is also searching for the Star Shards. He is an independent third person and no one knows who he is or what his purpose is.

"Kamen Rider Dragon Knight could be doing better, and it needs the heroes of Toku fandom to help spread the word. We are a small show, and our corporate masters haven't yet unleashed the marketing barrage juuuust yet..

Matt Mullins is being a hero. He is going to the local TV stations around southern California ON HIS OWN to promote the show, but to the folks further up the ladder, we are just another product to fill their 11:30 time slot. That's why we need you, the fans, to start a bottom up, grass roots revolution.

I was approached by Aki Komine, a producer I had worked with on the original GUYVER film and another film called DRIVE back in July of 2006. He told me he had gotten Toei Studio’s approval to do a demo film [pre-show pilot] of KAMEN RIDER. He and his partners had chose RYUKI because there were 13 Riders and that meant more toys to sell.

At first I had some reservations about doing the show. Aki and I had talked about doing an original Kamen Rider film back in the early 90’s- pre Saban MASKED RIDER days. But we couldn’t get the rights.

And doing an adaptation of an existing show was not something I was all that interested in. But after some back and forth, Toei agreed for us to re-imagine the show anyway we saw fit and that was what convinced me to do it...

...DRAGON KNIGHT is not based on the RYUKI storyline. There are similarities between the two because we had to use whatever suit footage we can. This was necessary due to our low budget. Like I said, we had no studio support from the beginning so our budget was actually little over half that of POWER RANGERS per episode.

Anyway, we simply could not afford to recreate every effect shot that was already done for RYUKI. Having to use the Japanese footage and making it work within the structure of our original story was quite a challenge, too. Nathan Long was our head Writer. He, Mike and I worked very hard to make sense of it all and still tell our original story...

...It was my idea to rename the show. I had to convince Toei to let me call it KAMEN rider instead of MASKED rider for a few reasons. Growing up, I never watched ‘Masked Rider’… it was always KAMEN RIDER and seeing it called ‘Masked’ always felt strange. I’m just not a fan of using descriptions to name a character such as ‘Masked’. That’s like calling Darth Vader “Armored Sith Lord”. It’s silly to me.

...I also did not want people to confuse this show with the failed Saban show [SABAN’S MASKED RIDER, an adaptation of KAMEN RIDER BLACK RX] 10 years ago. All the higher ups involved are really concerned that we don’t repeat that same mistakes but they don’t really know how to make this show appeal to the new generation of kids. I did some hard pitching in the beginning and I think they were convinced enough to take a chance with our new approach to revive this franchise. I am trying to make Kamen Rider a household name here in the US...

...I would tell them first and foremost this is not KAMEN RIDER RYUKI. If they are remotely interested in this show then just watch it and give it a chance. They will notice a more mature tone and a lack of goofy antics, much like the original shows. We have some comedy, but only when it feels right to have it.

I know the purists who think any US adaptation is crap and won’t let themselves like it no matter what, and I’ll be the first to tell them not to waste their time watching the show. It’s not for them. I would actually prefer that they don’t watch it and not post negative messages in the fan forums about it. I never understood that concept. There are shows I am a fan of but don’t watch because I didn’t like what they are doing with it. And I’m talking original Japanese toku shows. But I don’t go on forums to trash it. I think that’s really lame. As is criticizing a show for 6-11 year old kids and you are in your 20’s or older. Honestly, I’m speechless!

Anyway, my point is the original Japanese versions will always be there for them to enjoy and, despite what they believe, no one can ever take that away...

Not that I need to justify myself to toku fans, but we made every effort to treat the show with respect. I have been a big KAMEN RIDER fan since the 70’s and anyone who knows me can vouch for that. I consider it a real honor to be able to re-introduce the Riders to a new generation of would-be fans and hopefully give back some of that magic I received watching the shows as a kid.

And the bottom line, I love KAMEN RIDER! And I did everything in my power (within the constraint of budget and regulations) to make something that I know Shotaro Ishinomori would have been proud of and hope the new generation of kids will like as well. I hope it will also appease the adult fans too. But sadly, the adult fans are not the target audience for this show. As I have been told (more times than I wanted to hear from my bosses) this is toy commercial, so it won’t hurt my feeling if the adult fans reject it. Hell, the Japanese fans of the original can’t even agree on what they like in a KAMEN RIDER show! LOL. All I know is that I am very proud of DRAGON KNIGHT and I have every confidence that we did the show justice here...

...We shot all 40 episodes before we had a deal with CW. Our experience with their standards and practices department went really well. Since we were all TV newbies, we really didn’t know what was acceptable for tv when we were shooting so we did break some rules. And for those who are not in the know about S&P, there are quite a bit of strict rules for kid’s shows. Can’t have guns, people can’t die, certain sexy tones etc…

We actually had to do a minor recut for Kamen Rider Siren’s introduction scene. CW felt it was way too sexually charged! They caught us on that. [laughs] We did work hard to make her debut scene sexy and kick-ass!

In the end they let us get away with quite a bit of stuff because they loved the show. It was really cool for them to tell us they can’t wait to see the next episode while giving us notes. AND they really respected the artists’ creative vision. They always suggest things without interfering with the style and the storytelling and made it a point to let us know they did not want to meddle with the show!..

...e shot a ton of in-suit footage. We actually shot way more new action footage for the show than we used of the original Japanese footage. We had quite a few episodes that were all action and has no Japanese footage at all. We imported some of the original suit performers from Japan so we can have continuity in the suit acting, but we also used a lot of fighters and stuntmen in the US who were familiar with suit action. We also had an amazing motorcycle stunt team; real A-list riders in the stunt world. Our main action director is Akihiro ‘Yuji” Noguchi of Alpha stunts. Yuji has worked on every one of my projects since GUYVER 2. He’s an amazing stuntman and fighter and a really good action director too! He and I split the chores directing action on the show...

...Bandai America is handling all the toys for the show and it should be available this June...

...I actually want to go back to doing creature effects for a little while. KAMEN RIDER DRAGON KNIGHT was almost a 3-year project from conception to final completion and I really need a break. Working really long hours for this many years in a row really wore me down and I’m looking forward to a 40 hour a week job!

As for TV/film projects, my brother Mike, Nathan Long and I are developing a few and are actively pitching to studios and networks, so we’ll see. There’s been strong interest in us in this town lately because of KAMEN RIDER...

I watched ALL of Kamen Rider Ryuki, several times, but more so I could catalog the fights than for the plot. I think that's the biggest misconception I find when I snoop around the various Rider forums. I wouldn't call Kamen Rider Dragon Knight an adaptation of Kamen Rider Ryuki. We used the fight footage and some of the basic themes, but the Dragon Knight story has no real relation to the Ryuki story.

The things we kept were: the costumed footage, the idea that each of the riders would have a different reason he or she was fighting, the look and attitude of Ren, and the concept of a female reporter. Other than that, we started with a blank slate and created the story from scratch.

...We wanted to make something original - something that came out of our heads rather than just a carbon copy of an old show. Believe me, if someone had come to us and asked us to make a completely new Toku show from the ground up, without adapting some previous property, we would have jumped at the chance. That would have been so cool! The decision to use Ryuki as a base was not ours, it was the producers', and it was primarily budgetary. They didn't have a lot of money, and re-using existing action scenes was a lot cheaper than shooting new ones...

...I am hoping that the viewers will see Kamen Rider as more than just a Power Rangers clone, but I don't know if it will happen. I tell people that it's more like 'Heroes' for teens. I hope that description will at least convince them to give it a chance. We'll see.

...Aside from Kit and Len, who carry the main drama of the series, Torque (Zolda) might have been my favorite. His real name is Drew Lansing, and he's a twisty little con-man, always working the angles and keeping one step ahead of the people he's swindling. Those kinds of characters have always appealed to me.

I also liked writing Michelle Walsh, who starts out as a fairly minor character - a rival reporter who gives the female lead a hard time - but who really changes and develops in interesting ways as the series goes on.

Femme/Siren had barely any screen time in Ryuki, will she catch more of a break than her Japanese counterpart?: She is an entirely different character in Dragon Knight than she was in Ryuki. I don't want to give anything away, but she is tougher and cooler and more hard-edged, and she is going to get way more screen time.

...I hope the fans will love it. I think it is miles cooler and more sophisticated than Power Rangers, and I think that if people stick with it, they're going to really enjoy the ride. My biggest fear is that the audience that we'd really like to get - kids from 10 to 16 - will see the colorful hero armor and decide its kid stuff and won't watch it. All I can say is, give us five episodes. If we haven't hooked you by then, I'll eat my hat.

...As far as more Kamen Rider or working with Steve and Mike again, we gotta wait and see how well KRDK does. I would be up for doing another series if they ask us. Steve, Mike and I are also hanging out and discussing other ideas - movies, series, etc that we might do on our own. It's all just talk right now, but we'll see.

Stick with us. Like I said earlier, give us five episodes. The first episodes are great, but as we went on and everybody got more comfortable in their roles they got even better. The story arc spans the whole forty episode series, and nothing at the beginning is as it seems. I like making things twisty, so trust me, there's more curves in this thing than a Pussycat Dolls show. You're going to like the ride.

I think both Steve and I would have a lot of fun doing another Guyver movie...

I had no expectations going into the show. I was familiar with the franchise, but had no idea of its popularity. Steve and Michael Wang were pretty good at getting me up to speed!

The best thing about KRDK is the existing fanbase and that's great for us because most shows aren't as fortunate to have such amazing support. Now it's about meeting those expectations, which I know we've done from viewing some of the episodes.

I heard about the audition for Kamen Rider and I got a character description of Len online. I called my agent to get me in for an audition and he could not get me in. I called my manager to do the same, and he could not get me in. I finally found out where the audition was and I crashed it. A few days later I flew to Chicago to work on a Sideswipe show and the second my plane landed I got a call for a second audition. I got on the first plane back to LA, did the audition, and got the show. Without a doubt persistence paid off, and I feel so lucky everything worked. You got to love Hollywood.

The Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight production has been a huge collaborative effort from all of the cast, crew and directors. A lot of people fought and worked very hard to make sure the show was done to the standard that Kamen Rider fans have come to expect. I found out that I got the role and knowing that it's a show perfect for action junkies I kind of realized I had to get in shape and start some stunt training. I wanted to resemble the physique of Takamasa Suga, the lead of Kamen Rider Ryuki. Though the tough part was that I didn't have a lot of time between when I got the job and when we started filming, so that was pretty intense. I thought it would help with the stunt work, which turned out to be a LOT of running, rolling, slamming against cars and buildings. So most of the training I had done involved a lot of kicking and punching, trying to make it look natural on screen. Hopefully it paid off.

...Did you ever get to see any of the original Japanese version?: I did, actually, the day I found out I had the job I went online and ordered the series. I wanted to stay true to what they did with the original series but I also wanted to bring my take on the character, in the world that the Wangs were creating. There were a few scenes in the original series that I truly wanted them to put in our series because some of it is flat out fantastic.

Adness Entertainment has secured a broadcast deal with Cartoon Network Latin America for live-action series Kamen Rider Dragon Knight.

While the TV series may look like a Power Ranger remake, it's actually the opposite as Power Rangers was inspired by Kamen Rider. Also it is aimed to a higher demograph of kids; actors take situations more seriously, and the script is more mature in its content. Also, while the series offers some of the best action and visual effects on television - not to mention martial arts techniques - it contains as well a lot of morals and under lying spritual messages to its young audience. Focusing one of the main story lines, it shows some heart in Kit's desire to reunite with his missing father, which ultimately drives his actions.

Kamen Rider is a hugely popular franchise that originated in Japan since the early 70s and was originally created by the late Shotaro Ishinomori, who also created the first 2 shows of the Sentai franchise that later shows would be used for the Power Rangers, he also created Cyborg 009, Skull Man and Kikaider and was awarded the Guinness World Record for most comics published by one author, totaling over 128,000 pages. He also created the comic adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.

JF Davis decided to become an actor later than the usual norm - in his mid to late twenties. And it all happened one day as he was watching TV and saw a girl he knew from his hometown (Maine) on a soap opera. That day he decided if she could do it so could he. And he surely did! Davis' film/TV credits include "WINDTALKERS" with Nick Cage, guest spots on TV include episodes of "Private Practice", "THE WEST WING", "LAS VEGAS", "ARLI$$", "THE PRETENDER", and most recently the season finale of "Grey's Anatomy". As for his role on Kamen Rider, JF, then agent-less, got it guerilla style by submitting himself for an audition.

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight follows the heroic adventures of teenager Kit Taylor, who discovers a mysterious deck of Advent Cards that grant him the power to transform into an ancient armored warrior called a Kamen Rider. The backstory for the Onyx deck, ...was that it was a prototype upgrade Eubulon was working on before Xaviax knocked him out of Ventara and into Earth.

63 years ago, Xaviax attacked Ventara and was defeated, but not before knocking Eubulon into Earth... Adam was 17 when Eubulon was defeated, and was awakened four times, making him 21 or 22 the last time he was woken up...By that time, Xaviax had returned, but had not yet revealed himself. He was biding his time, waiting until a rider was awake that he could bend to his purposes...Xaviax knew that Len was still out there somewhere, and so held Adam in reserve. Adam didn’t want anything to do with Xaviax, but when Xaviax offered him life with Sara in a fake Ventara, he took it, and has been on ice ever since.

Both Xaviax and Eubulon have similar mental powers. Xaviax, however is a general, not a scientist, and can only use the technology he has been given. He can’t invent new stuff. Eubulon was a scientist, a weapon designer and inventor who decided he didn’t want to make weapons anymore. He has the ability to make new tech.

Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, we couldn’t give any of the other Ventaran riders much screen time...

Names of the other Ventaran Kamen Riders: Steve tells me they were all named in the credits of Ep 39, but I don’t remember what they were. I don’t think they were refered to by their given names in the script, just their Kamen Rider names.

Ah, the clip shows. Nobody liked the clip shows, and to be honest, neither did we. We would have much rather shot more straight ahead story and action shows, but again, it comes down to time and budget...

Grant/Camo had a whole different story when we first wrote him. He was an eco-terrorist who used his Rider powers to smash up polluting factories. Xaviax set him against Kit and Len by saying they were working for the corporations. Sadly, there was no budget for smashing up factories, so he became a cheating martial artist.

The Cho brothers had a whole backstory where they were stealing to help their mom, who was about to lose the convenience store she ran because she couldn’t pay the rent. Unfortunately, there was no money to shoot scenes in a convenience store and no money for actors to play greedy landlords, so they just stole motorcycles...

The scene I wish we could have fixed was Wrath’s venting. Wing Knight was supposed to have used his Final Vent on Wrath just after Wrath used his on Dragon Knight. This didn’t get shot, probably due to time constraints (it was almost all American footage and the episode was mostly action and fx which takes a lot longer to shoot than drama) and so the scene doesn’t quite make sense as it stands. I would love to patch that up.

We had originally written Wrath as a construction worker who fell into a coma after a job site accident (orchestrated by Xaviax, of course) and there were scenes where Xaviax entered the hospital, possessed his body and walked out, smashing up people like the terminator. Once again, time and budget did not allow it.

Aunt Grace came out of the early “More comedy!” notes that we got, and she got written out not so much because the character didn’t work, but because we didn’t want to keep writing, “Hey, Aunt Grace, can you watch the store!” scenes. The original gag was that Aunt Grace would never know what was really going on, and just sail on, blissfully oblivious, but as the plot got bigger, there was less room for those kind of gags, and finally she just went. In hindsight, we should have made Maya the owner of the store...

As for the bigger bookstore, well, I could tell you that it was all the location manager could find, but if you want a storyline reason, then the new Grace’s Books was funded by the No-Men as a thank you to Maya for her role in saving the world, and for keeping quiet about it.

...Between episode 39 and 40, Eubulon took the Ventaran riders to Karsh and freed the Ventarans like he mentioned in ep 39. It took quite a long time and there were many battles with new Karsh enemies before they succeeded. In fact, we wanted to make this the story of season 2, but near the end we decided we’d better wrap up the story cleanly due to uncertainties about the future of the series.

In Episode 19 when Chris got vented, 4kids thought it played too much like a death scene, and wanted Steve and Mike to recut it. They didn’t want to do that, and so offered to add some off-screen dialogue of Len telling Kit, “We’ll try to bring him back.” 4kids accepted. I know the Wangs were not too happy about this, but it was the lesser of two evils...

Originally when we first started shooting I was not aware that I was being controlled by Xaviax, we thought that Frank was guiding Kit in someway through Kit's subconscious. As we got into the hospital scenes, it became known that Xaviax was controlling what Frank was saying to Kit.

Steve and I get a lot of fans of KRDK writing to us about how much they loved the characters on the show. I get a kick out of watching the music video montages the fans create on Youtube. You can see a lot of care has been put into them and it’s nice for us to see the next generation of fans giving the series so much love.

...We shot a lot of our own original footage and used the Japanese footage that best fit our story. This was a challenge because in RYUKI certain Kamen Riders fight each other and the footage didn’t work for KRDK’s story. So, we had to shoot a majority of our own original footage like in Episode 18.

...Steve and I have also been developing new action/adventure kids shows and hope to bring something fresh to the fans soon!

Adness Entertainment...they are working tirelessly to get KRDK into other markets and have done a great job doing so. I would love to see future adaptations of KRDK and I’m sure the fans would too!<
