Episode 19: “Semper Fi”
Story By Steve Wang, Nathan Long and Michael Wang
Written by Colin Gillis
Directed by John Fasano
Summary: JTC offers Chris to join Xaviax and tells him that Xaviax has medical technology that can cure his asthma, but first has to help take out Wing Knight. Chris refuses JTC’s offer and transforms. Strike inserts his Final Vent Card, but Sting uses "Attack Vent" (with 4,000 Attack Points) -- summons Evildiver and attacks Strike from behind. Sting then escapes.
In Gramercy Park, Lacey calls the bookstore to confront Maya again, but decides she can't do it over the phone and heads on over. Lacey arrives at the bookstore but stops for a moment before entering. She then notices Len walk past her and enter the bookstore, so she decides to watch through the window. Then Kit walks in and informs them that Strike took his father. Then Chris enters and tells them that he was encountered by Strike again and that he's running out of time. Len informs them of the two new Riders, Axe and Spear. Then Danny and Albert walk in to start a fight in the bookstore. Maya tells them they need to go somewhere else, they need more room. So they all head into Ventara to fight. Trent and Lacey see them walk through a window, and also a transformation for the first time as Albert decides to transform before going through the window, which ends up trashing the bookstore. Shocked from what she just saw, Lacey leaves.
Wing Knight, Dragon Knight and Sting become separated as they enter into Ventara from different locations. Dragon Knight is attacked by a monster. Sting and Wing Knight find each other and search for Dragon Knight. Dragon Knight quickly destroys the monster with his Final Vent, but is then attacked by Spear, using "Spin Vent" (Gazelle Stab) (with 2,000 Attack Points). As Dragon Knight takes on Spear, he is then also attacked by Axe. Dragon Knight takes down Spear. Wing Knight and Sting show up, so Axe uses "Strike Vent" (Dest Claw (2 gauntlet claws)) (with 2,000 Attack Points), and takes them both down. Dragon Knight uses Sword Vent and attacks him, and the two run off. Wing Knight and Sting try going after them, but Spear gets in their way.
Dragon Knight manages to knock Axe unconscious. Dragon Knight takes out his Final Vent Card, but is unable to bring himself to Vent Axe, so instead just leaves him there while he goes to find Wing Knight and Sting. Axe regains consciousness.
Spear uses "Attack Vent" (Final Vent) (with 5,000 Attack Points), summoning a herd of Gigazelles which attack Wing Knight and Sting. The herd vanishes, Spear takes down Wing Knight, and Sting is shocked by Strike's staff. Dragon Knight shows up and tries running to help, but is intercepted by Axe. Strike uses Final Vent to use on Wing Knight, but Sting gets up and takes the hit for him. Strike then leaves. Sting begins disintegrating and places his right hand over his chest and says, “Semper Fi” (Semper Fidelis: "Always Faithful"). Sting is Vented. Axe and Spear leave. Kit picks up his Advent Deck and holds it against his chest and begins to cry, and Len places his right hand over his chest, in honor of their fallen friend and his sacrifice.
